With multiple programs in Baltimore; Washington, DC; Chicago and Denver, to name a few, we look forward to bringing a new choral experience to older adults in New York." – Jeanne Kelly, Encore's Founder and Artistic Director

Encore was born of the Creativity and Aging Study at George Washington University, under Dr. Gene Cohen, that measured mental, physical, and social benefits for older adults who had the opportunity to sing under a professional conductor.

“……we saw that these singers took less medication, had fewer falls, had wonderful morale and suffered much less depression. I decided many older adults simply were not challenged enough.” - Jeanne Kelly, Founder & Artistic Director

Encore serves over 1,800 singers ages 55+ in eight states and the District of Columbia…and now, NYC!

Spring Break!  The following groups will not have rehearsal this week: Chorales: AACC, AMV, Capital, Fairfax, Frederick, GHBC, Glen Echo, Reston, Towson. ROCKS: Alexandria, Annapolis, DC, Fairfax, Glen Echo.
