Encore's eleventh Chorale in the DC/MD/VA area is located in beautiful Southern Maryland at the Asbury~Solomons Island Retirement Community.  Krystal Rickard McCoy returns to the helm for the Chorale's second year. The Southern Maryland Encore Chorale rehearses on Thursdays, beginning September 6, 2012, from 11am to 12:30pm. Asbury~Solomons Island is located at 11100 Asbury Circle in Solomons, MD.  Rehearsals will take place in the South Apartment Building Club House.

Krystal holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Bucknell University and a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College, studying under Joseph Flummerfelt.  Her vocal performance experience includes soprano roles in Mozart’s Requiem and Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass.

She has conducted the University Singers, Concert Choir and co-directed Schola Cantorum at the University of Delaware.   Her high school choirs in the New Jersey Public School System won superior awards at competitions, performed in Carnegie Hall, and traveled to Sydney, Australia to perform in the Sydney Opera House.   Krystal is the conductor of St. Maries Musica, a select community choir based in Southern Maryland and is president of Maryland/DC American Choral Director’s Association.   Encore welcomes Krystal Rickard McCoy and her Southern Maryland Encore Chorale.
